VISTA Award Winners

The VISTA Awards is the annual competition among the National Professional Videographers Association of New England to celebrate the best work of the year in categories ranging from corporate and event videography to wedding videography. Held at the end of each calendar year, the VISTA winners are announced at the February meeting of the NPVA/NE.

Judging

Videos will be judged on the following criteria:
1) Picture Quality (color, focus, stability and lighting)
2) Audio Quality (which may include both live and dubbed audio)
3) Overall Impact (which refers to how the production flows and its emotional impact)
4) Editing Technique (scene to scene compatibility)
First place winners will receive a plaque. All other winners will receive a certificate with the option of purchasing a plaque.


VISTA AWARDS RULES AND REGULATIONS
Revised 2009
1)No names on DVDs - entries are anonymous

2) Judges are NPVA members; the majority are past VISTA competition winners

3) VISTA Award entries may be any length; judges will watch the first 30 minutes. Submissions must be representative of the actual delivered product. If judges believe that the program is an award contender, the judges should watch as long as they believe the entry is a contender.

4)Entrants may submit anynumber of entries in any category at $25.00 per entry. Entrants may win no more than one place per category.

New to 2010!!!:

5) Entrants submitting their first entries may submit a single entry in each category for $10. Each subsequent entry is the standard fee of $25.

6) Categories for entries:
a) Weddings - “complete” form as submitted to client with ceremony and reception which must include the original audio for rings and vows
b) Corporate
c) Miscellaneous eg. Bar/Bat Mitzvah, Anniversary, Love Story etc.
d) Wedding and other Event Highlight - may include dubbed audio

7) All work submitted must be done by the video production company submitting the entry. During the award’s presentation, all members of the production team must be mentioned.

8) Any entrant that is in violation of these rules and regulations will be disqualified and the entrant may be barred from future VISTA competitions

9) Each entrant will have the opportunity to submit a 25 word (or less) synopsis to explain or introduce the submission. Explanations will be copied from the entry form and affixed to the DVD itself.

10) Any entry previously shown at an NPVA/NE function may not be submitted.
